are you screens referring to sales order?

we cannot guess it well because it seems some other language than en-us.

if its sales order you may put validation at time of sales order confirmation i.e. system will not allow to confirm sales order unless 'sales prices' is more than 'Average Cost Price'

Didn't get your question. What do you want to validate? Can you please elaborate?

    Thanks,

    Baber.

Sorry for my bad English .

What I need is to validate that any article can be sold under the cost that gives me InventSumAverageCostPriceUnit () method .

In the company where I work, the user can change the unit price, I have to avoid that put a price on the cost of the product

If you're using R3 (and you have the Trade -> Margin alert configuration key turned on) you see the estimated margin % on the sales order line.

You can also see the cost of the item using 'Financials -> Prices'.

Both these use the current average cost (if the item is not Standard Costed), but you may need to get hotfix KB 3040206 to make it work properly.

With 'Margin alert' (Accounts receivable parameters), if you specify a 'Questionable sales trade margin alert' of 0.00, you'll get an icon on the order line if the user sells below cost. You could modify AX to do something else in this scenario.

However, if you turn Call center on you get 'Price override' functionality. There is a setup form at Call center -> Setup -> Overrides -> Override permissions (you need to enable 'Retail' in the licence configuration to see this module). It has some options will allow you to specify a percentage vs Item cost or Margin, but have not yet played with these options to see what they do, so I'm not sure if it will fit your requirement. The TechNet article is not particularly revealing:

    Hey Guy,

Does the margin alert compare against the current average cost?  If the item isn't standard costed, this value is not necessarily correct until an inventory close or recalculation is completed, right?

    Hi Jacob,

Yes, if the item is actual costed, I believe AX margin alert will use the current running average cost price (if it can find one. If it can't, it will use the cost price on the item record).

The current running average cost price is what it is! It will change even without inventory close. This means you can create an order line and see the margin. Then, having done nothing to the order, you could go back to it later and see a different margin.

I'm not sure you'd worry about margin alert after doing an inventory close. If the order is part of inventory close, then you've delivered and invoiced it, and surely margin alert is only useful when creating the order. Unless you're using it for reporting? - but there are better ways to report sales margin.

It just occurred to me that, once the order line is packing slip or invoice updated, the inventory transactions on the line itself will have a cost price. I'm not sure what margin alert does in this case - i.e. whether it reports those prices, or continues to use the running average.
