Mailbox Deleted Items

We just need to clarify “Deleted Items” means?

For example, in the report it says my deleted items are 125035 (report from Exchange Admin Center) but my mailbox says 4,846 (from the actual outlook of the user deleted folder).

Not sure why it  is not accurate or from the Exchange Admin center report, it will gathered all the deleted items you actually deleted from your outlook Deleted folder? is like they have a retention period before deleting it.

Please help me to understand this issue.
