Hello,

My client is getting the following error when attempting to open their NAV 2009 R2 database (via RTC and CC) after installing NAV 2009 R2 on their Microsoft Surface Pro 3 running Windows 8:

The following SQL Server error or errors occurred:

18452,"28000",[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Login failed. The login is from an untrusted domain and cannot be used with Windows authentication.

Please note that they have correctly joined the domain and can access their exchange server email as well as the server files.

Any advice is much appreciated.

Thanks!

    hi,

check if the curr. windows user and the nav service account have the appropriate rights in the sql database. the windows 8 client should be within the same windows domain as the sql server.

    best regards

Does your application check the roles before login? In SQL Server 2008 they have changed a sp which returns role for the user.

Second probability can be user is not configured in DB with proper access.

check it and let us know the outcome.

It was a domain connection issue. Thanks!
