Standard Dialog Page Vs Processing only report

ReportReport

Hi all,

Can anyone explain when Standard Dialog Page is used and when a processing only report is used.

My requirement is to get User Inputs and add few records in only one table. What will be the best way to handle it - Standard Dialog Page or Processing only report ?

Thanks.

    Hi,

If I understand correctly then you would to store the data from variable into table

I think you can use Processing only report and use request page to store the value

    Hello,

If your target is to insert data from somewhere[Like csv,xls,.....] then Processing only report is best option, why because its performance is fast compare to page [Why fast?- Because it has no any UI, only code is execute].

Also you can handle each record if any exists or any duplication and many more if you want.

    > Page is mostly use if you want to give the UI to client, manually insert data field by field or based on code.

you can check page 1041 for standard dialogue example.

processing only reports are used for batch processing.

check standard objects and decide which one suits your business requirement.

If you want to modify large set of records, then I would go with a process only report.

Agree with others, depends on the process you want to implement. If you would have only users who would enter few records through interface, you can use dialogs.
