Adding Custom Activities to the Timeline

Posted on by

Hi,

I am attempting to create a custom activity [Change] which should be visible within the timeline when added to the Case through the timeline, in the same way as a phone or email activity.

I have created a Change entity, marked as an activity entity and associated a quick create form to the entity. I am able to add the change activity via quick create in the global activity add in the top menu, but if I attempt to add the activity via the Timeline (in the same way as a Phone call activity) I am not redirected to the quick create form, rather presented with the following exception:

Cannot read property 'Type' of null

Error code: 0x0

Does anyone know how to overcome this issue or if this is at all possible?

Thanks

Pete

Thanks Arun, we have since investigated further and there is a known issue with Quick Creates for custom entities in the Customer Service Hub, which has yet to be resolved.

You should be able to debug this further in F12 developer toolbar in browser & find out more details about method/file from where this exception is coming out.

If you have any script in form load of your custom activity entity validated that first.

Try that out in trial instance as well for similar behavior.

Finally we can reach out to MS support if you need assistance on this issue.
