Hi everyone,

I'm looking for recommendations on solutions for importing invoices and payments from external retail or ecomm platforms to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Has anyone had good experiences with a particular existing solution for this business need?

Any insights and recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Fjorela

You can use the API or Power Automate. For example,
Dynamics 365 Business Central: How to use standard customerPayment API to get customer payments (customerPayments/customerPaymentsJournals APIs returns empty records)
How to import data from a csv file to Business Central with Power Automate (No customization) – csv to JSON

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

If you only need to import invoices and payments, you can use Excel files and configuration packages. However, this method is more manual.

For more automated solutions, you'll typically need to build your own connector or integration. Yun Zhu mentioned two options for this: APIs and Power Automate.

In most cases, the platform you're trying to integrate with Business Central doesn't have an out-of-the-box connector, as each integration needs to be customized. However, some popular solutions might have one available—you can check the App Store for those.

    Hi Fjorela,
it depends on the external system and the quantity of orders - if you have to import documents from an ecommerce and you don't have specific requirements, you will probably find an app that will be able to connect smoothly and manage all your syncronization needs just like it is possible to do for Shopify in the standard solution, eg:

If the ecommerce\retail platform integration is a custom solution and it is ok to manually import documents for example once a day (because it is not time sensitive and the volume is not high), you can use one of the many apps for data import that allow for easy configuration of the format like:

If you need a more complex integration with a high volume of documents, you should really look at having a custom integration developed.

    Best.
