Can someone pls provide some guidelines on the procedure to be followed to move the database log files to a separate partition from the partition where the database files are located.

Any assistance will be highly appreciated.

A simple search would give you a lot of answers on how to relocate a database log file. Here is one of them:

You need to stop the AX AOS, reporting, analysis, DIXF or any other services using tge AX databases. Take the DBs offline, move the files then change their locations within SQL.
