    Hello bsdaksh,

This is what Microsoft explained when you select this feature in the Feature management.

"This feature adds the Inquiries control for open transactions originating from customer or vendor payment journals."

I have not tested this yet! You can check from your end; whether there is any "Inquiry" option enabled in the customer or vendor open transactions. Means; so far we are able to find the posted voucher transactions from the Voucher transactions form. May be there is an added feature available once this is enabled which may provide open transactions also which are not yet posted!

    Best regards,

    Hi Sourav,

Thanks for your reply !!! After enabling this feature, i checked and i didn't find any "inquiry" option enabled in the customer or vendor open transactions. Microsoft should give path or screen shot for newly added feature, since they are already putting so much efforts in these new feature, it hardly take 5 minute for proper documentation and it will be beneficial for all product users.

    Regards,

    Bsdaksh

    Hello bsdaksh,

Let's wait for other members in this Forum if anyone already enabled this feature and tested. They can share their input on this.

I have the latest version available with me but we have not yet planned to initiate any kind of testing unless the project starts full fledged :-(

You can also check if any new form is added in any module (example; GL or in Cash and bank) after enabling this feature!

    Best regards,
    Sourav Dam

    Hi bsdaksh/all ,

If you've activated the feature and you go to the following forms, you will see the new Inquiry option.

    Accounts receivables

Accounts receivable\ all Customers, Select a customer and select the Collect tab at the top.

Select Settle transactions under the settle group and you should be able to see the inquiry button

    Accounts payable

All vendors, select a vendor and proceed to the Invoice tab at the top

click on the Settle transaction option and you'll see the Inquiry option

    General ledger

In a general ledger with a customer or vendor selected as an account, click on the Function option and choose the select transaction. The inquiry is also visible from here.

There are some more minor changes in labels, but this is the most important.

    Brgds,

    Eddie.

    Hi Eddie,

    Thanks for your reply !!!

I can see this inquiry button, before enabling this feature. In below mention screen shot, I haven't enable this feature in one of my environment, but I can see this inquiry button during settlement of customer or vendors. In feature management, it's module mentioned as Cash & Bank Management, may be some inquiry they enabled there, but I am not able to found.

    Hi Bsdaksh,

The inquiry button is there In the Accounts receivable and accounts payable before you enable the feature. There are subtle changes on the labels, see my screen shot below. The inquiry option is fully new on the general journal

    AR& AP

    GL journal

I have not seen any changes on the Cash and bank management side. Let me know if you see any.

    I hope this helps

Hi Eddie, Thanks for your kind help. Actually all this confusion due to MS mentioned that this feature is for Cash and Bank Management and I focused into that area only. I hope MS will provide better documentation or proper screen shots for new features, which they are going to release.

    Regards,

    Bsdaksh

We will get the settlement overview document updated to include more details about this feature.  In the meantime here is the functional information about this feature.

When settling a transaction, you might notice a symbol that indicates that the transaction is marked in another location. In this case, you can select the transaction on the Settle transactions page and then select Inquiry > Settlement from the settlement window. The view for this inquiry shows journals, sales orders, invoices, payment proposals, and customer locations that might be blocking the transaction from settlement. To resolve the issue, you can select the link to go directly from the inquiry to the blocked location. You can then update the document with the adjustments that are required to settle it. You can also use the Marked to identify other documents that are included in the same blocking location.
