Hello, I am trying to import Dynamics CE contacts into CI.
What am I doing wrong? To me this seems to be relatively straight forward ?
Best regards
Alex

Try to import the Contacts with PQ connector in lieu of Dataverse connector. We tried Dataverse originally and were told there was a bug with that connector.
Hi Paulien, how did you actually solved this problem ?
many thanks in advance!
Whoohaaa, that was a valuable hint "When you have fixed the errors the "corrupt" entities will continue to be there, but you will see the status is "Not available"". Thanks for that :-)
Slight different wording (like 'solved' perhaps) would be better explaining maybe.
Hi Alexander,
Did this resolve your issue?
If yes, please mark as answer. It will then be easier for others to find this solution.
You can also simply remove the fields that are at fault (usually the composite fields, like address) and only pull in the individual fields you need. I am referring to in the MAP phase, you can limit those other fields from being used in unification and then you won't hit this issue.
Hi Alexander,
There is no limit in Dataverse contacts import in CI.
1) You have currently created a managed data lake "copy" of your Dataverse, this is the source where you can select entities. You did this by New source -> Microsoft Dataverse. It is confusing that these entities will also show in CI, but have no transformation before ingest.
2) To import this data into CI, with transformation, you need to create a new data source with import method Microsoft Power Query and here select "Dataverse - Data Lake (Preview). Select the Dataverse source from 1 and do the transformations (Clean) here.
Your main problem should be solved by your clean transformation in the "new" source from step 2.
Hope it makes sense.
Francis
Hi Francis, thanks for your suggestions.
Referring to your clean text function solution: I am not able to Access power query anymore with CI if I connect to a Microsoft Datavers as a Data Source.
Then I am only able to select certain entities but not specific fields.
Is there a way around it ?
However , my main problem is that I have over 5000 contacts in my Dynamics CRM system and only 140 got Import and 5 appear under the corrupt contacts that you are referring to. Where are the other 4800 +- contacts. CI Doesnot seem to detect them. Someone in the forum referred to a limit of imported contacts that I should be able to set in CI.

Hi Alexander,
1) You can check out the rows giving you errors under Entities / System and look for the "corrupt" entities
2) The "fast" hammer to fix this is to use the Clean Text function in Power Query.
When you have fixed the errors the "corrupt" entities will continue to be there, but you will see the status is "Not available"
Hope it helps.
