Inventory has to be manually reserved before updating the order

Hello everybody, I'm trying to generate a rework order, I'm following the manual step by step, the only difference I have is that my products doesn't have the need of routes, there are no routes created neither required so I don't select any route for the rework. Im doing the manual reserve of the lot to be reworked, but after that neither the Release nor the Start buttons are activated, they remain deactivated as if there is a step missing. I also created a fake route, with one operation in order to do the Schedule operations step to see if this was the problem, but no changes... any help/suggestions?

Thanks a lot,

Kapil

What status is the order? created?

    Which manual and which page?

Your product has a technical need for routes if you are going to do any rework?

In production parameters what statuses can you move between?

    HI Steven,

The thing is in batch order manual reservation is not happening and hence it is not allowing me to start.

one more thing is my item is a CW item, does that have any affect on in...

I am refering  the ms pdfs for students AX2012_ENUS_PMI_03 >> rework batch order

What do you mean manual reservation is not happening; manual reservation means there is none, unless you do it. Reservation prevention has nothing to do with moving on the status of the production order, but in a rework order you estimate the works order and then reserve against the RAF order that produced the original goods you are reworking, and the BOM you add is the item itself.

Have you created a BOM with the item containing itself?

Is the status of the original production order you are re-working at RAF?

Is the item you are reworking in stock for you to rework?

What is the current status of your order?

Have you manually reserved the original? I guess not from your comment, but why not?

The production order has to be estimated and route is mandatory for network. Associate a route and estimate, and job & operation scheduling the PO then it will be activated

    Thanks

    HI Experts,

Since the we have only defined  the “inventory batch attributes per product”, so the system was considering the batch with attribute value for reservation and ignored others.

    Thanks all for your help..
