Creating work in load planning workbench

Hi there,

I am currently running this process:
sales order > load planning workbench > Picking workbench > Confirm shipment in load planning workbench.

The last step cant be done because all work hasn't been completed. We are not using the mobile app for warehousing and don't require work to be created.

Is there a way around this? Either turn off work being created or have work that gets automatically completed?

Or do you have to use the app to use this functionality?

Please advise.

    Hi Shaun,

    You can open the works and complete them on the form using the complete button.

    You can also process orders without generating any work/load/shipment. For details on this, you can check my post in this thread: What if the warehouse mobile devices don't work?

    Hi there Fatih,

    Thank you for your response.

    I have tried to create work that is pick and put with the put being not mandatory but it doesnt allow me.

    So I dont want to create work but it seems like work has to be created in this process, correct?

    If i try go complete the work it tells me to enter a user and then when I validate it says every line must have a location. But I cant edit that put line and put in a location.
    Cancelling the work also doesnt work because a user is attached it to.

    Is there any way to forgo any work transactions when doing load planning workbench?

    Hi Shaun,

    You don't have to create works, if that's the requirement really. You can always use "Pick" functionality in "Update line" dropdown menu in Sales order/Transfer order lines.

    But if you want to create works and the actual issue is location being empty, we can investigate that as well. If that's the requirement then, please share screenshots of the following:

    1. Warehouse management parameters.
    2. Work template (The one specified in WhsWorkTable.WorktemplateId).
    3. Location directives.
    4. Location directive action queries.
    5. Screenshot of the warehouse location, which you think should be selected by the app.
    6. Location profile Id that belongs to the location from Step#5.

    Hi there Fatih,

    I have tried multiple variations now around the 'enable warehouse processes' on the item model group and on the warehouse itself.

    I cant turn that off on the item model group because then i cant tracking items by their status which impacts receiving, returns, quality orders etc.

    If i don't want to go into every sales order and do the picking, i will need to create the picking workbench batch which works 100.

    When i do the load planning to plan a route, it creates work that i cant seem to get around in 365 without having the app on a mobile.

    My issue is the client is not going to use the app and is not going to track workers at that level. So i dont want any work created but i want to use the load planning functionality. Is this possible?

    Hi Shaun,

    You can not use the load planning functionality without creating warehouse works, because only way to close a load is to close a work first.

    Closing a work can be done through mobile devices, or "all works" form in client.

    To close the work from the client your work will need to have locations specified, as application printed in a message before.

    You should indeed have locations specified in your work orders.

    We can investigate why it is being left empty, if you can share the screenshots I mentioned in my previous posts.

    Thank you. If I can get the location to load and complete the work then we should be able to work around it.
