Hi..
I need to invoke a custom dialog form where the user will fill in the inputs on close ok of Sales Edit lines posting form during delivery note posting. If the user does not fill the required inputs in the dialog, it should not allow to proceed further. I also need to capture the journal information like journal Num after the journal has been created and posted successfully in a custom table capturing fields of dialog user inputs and journal Number
Please suggest a better solution to achieve this
Can't you simply add the information to the existing posting dialog? Getting a dialog, pressing OK and immediately getting another dialog doesn't look like optimal UX to me.
The topic of capturing journal numbers and such things doesn't belong to "Validation before posting delivery note", but feel free to create a new thread (with an appropriate title and tags) for that. Also, please ask questions about D365FO in one of D365FO forums (such as community.dynamics.com/.../), rather than in the Dynamics AX Forum.
Thanks Martin, appreciate your response. It is indeed a very good idea. But the customer wants it in a separate dialog.
My question is not yet resolved. How can we the posted journal information like Journal Num that got created and posted from the posting form in my custom table. Because in my custom table record should get created only when the journal is posted successfully otherwise it shouldn't create the record.

Just remove the trailing ")" character - sorry about that.
