Assign a user (warehouse manager) to a warehouse?

Hi ,

I want to limit the access of users to the wharehouses, I need to assign to every warehouse, one and only one responsible, please can you tell me how to do it?

What exactly do you want to achieve and what's your version of AX? Based on current information, I would think about Extensible Data Security or Record Level Security.

Thanks for your answer :) I'm using Microsoft dynamics AX 2012 R2, I want to use transfer orders, I have two warehouses A and B, and two warehouse's managers X and Y (X is the reponsible of A and Y of B). I want that X can create just transfer orders from A to B (Y can create transfer orders only from B to A)? but how to define a responsible for a warehouse in Microsoft dynamics AX?

Hi, I think it'll be difficult to meet this requirement using standard AX security. Is customization an option? If not, would an Alert work? So if X can only create transfer orders from warehouse A, setup an Alert for Transfer orders created by X from any warehouse except A. i.e. Name and shame.

Dear Amina,

With standard Dynamics AX functionality it would be impossible to achieve. As when you put a record level security a transfer order cannot be generated. For example MR A who can access WH A and MR B who can access WH B. If record level is implemented for MR A to access only A warehouse then it is not possible for him to select WH B.

Also both users will be able to see all transfer orders which is most likely to be next question to limit the transfer orders. We have customized this functionality where WH Security can be associated with user level.

Post is quite old - but you or someone else need any assistance do let me know.

my issue is also similar to the amina's question.........i want user Z to only select

WAREHOUSE 4 while making sales order.....please assist me on this

You can assign Default warehose for each work User

For a Work User select Default Warehouse as mentiond and assign also a menu which only handles Sales Order Work .
