best practice on migrating inventory to location bin mandatory

Hi experts,

I'm wondering what is the best practice on migrating inventory to location that is bin mandatory. I could think of 2 approaches.

1. migrate inventory to an unspecified location first, then move items to corresponding locations, bins.

2. migrate inventory with bin information populated on item journal. This way seems to be better than the first one. but user needs to ensure the bin information is correct.

Appreciate any ideas/feedbacks

Hi thanks for the reply. but the question is move data from a legacy system to NAV instead of move items between locations in NAV.
