Propose entitlement templates in Account creation

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi all,

I have a question regarding entitlements

From what I have seen, I can create entitlements from template only from Service Management.

Is it possible to, when an account is created for instance, to let the user select the template for the entitlement to use ?

Also, I am surprised that the name of the entitlement template does not get into the entitlement name when I create a new one from template, do you know how / if I can alter this ?

Thanks in advance,

Fred

    Hi FrederickGrobost,

Currently, it seems impossible to achieve it.

Maybe you can add the Entitlement entity to the sitemap beside account, which  allows you to save a little time by not having to go Service management area.

Thank you for your answer Leah

Do you know if it is possible to have a "Create from template" ? (Ribbon customization or plugin or whatever ?)

    Hi FrederickGrobost,

1.You want to create entitlements with template in the account form, right?

By default, you just can create entitlements  from blank, there is no entitlement template you can select in account form.

2.The name of the entitlement template does not get into the entitlement name when I create a new one from template, which is by-design.

If you want to copy name of the entitlement template to new entitlement, you can add new mappings to achieve it.

Go Settings > Customizations > Customize the system > Entities > Entitlement Template > 1:N relationships:

open the relationship and navigate Mappings tab to create new.

    select fields you need.
