Hello everyone,
In inventory Managment->Periodic-> Release sales order picking, If single grid is being chosen, no Action pane buttons are disabled but if multiple grids are being chosen, buttons get disabled.

It works for me as I required.
I thought it is being manipulated from somewhere (class) but when I changed Auto to Yes, It works.

I think you should not waste more time on investigating, as this seems that buttons are not being used anywhere in code to specify multi-select or single select.
The default property on menu items or buttons is = Auto, which does not allows multi-selection. you can experience this by creating a new form. if you have a form and a grid with datasource. now if you add a menu item or button and don't change any properties of menuitem/button, run the form. it will show you multi-select false, behavior.

Here are few updates from my side.
1) No auto declaration property is set to yes, that means buttons or menus are not being referred anywhere in x++.
2) Only for one menu item, multi-select property is set to Yes but for other(Select, Activation, Functions,..) menu items set as Auto.
3) No menu item is calling to any class in SalesReleaseOrderPicking form but it is calling InventReleaseOrderPickingForm_Sales for some reason.
I am still debugging that why buttons are being disabled if multiple grids get selected.

To know if theses buttons have any setup, most feasible way to check that is by knowing auto declaration property, if that is set to yes, that means in code somewhere the buttons are being handled to hided or enabled/disabled. if AutoDeclaration is set to No, that means buttons or menus are not being referred anywhere in x++
second doubtful area that can be checked is multi-select property on button or menu itself. it this is marked as yes, that means intentionally author has marked theses to multi-select and vice-versa.
Third point which you can check is corresponding functionality. e.g. if a menu item is calling a class, does that class signature is capable to accept multi-select? if so, you can enable ,multi-select. or else you need to change corresponding class to be able to handle multiple records.
Checking all these points can answer if these were set to multi-select or these have any setup or not.
Additionally, you can use SO or Transfer order directly to use multi-select while picking.

This form is not customized one. AX has kernel version 6.3.164.3669 and application version 6.3.164.0.
I would like to know, is this only from AX 2012 R3 or in earlier versions as well?
Is there any setup behind for this behavior?

usually it should not be a surprising matter, because it depends how author of these forms has developed these. if these forms were not developed to supposed multiline selection, they are behaving in correct way. if you think its other way around, you, then it can be accepted as bug or some other matter
