Shop floor employee efficiency

ReportReport
Posted on by

Hi, we are currently on AX 2009 sp1 with ru8 and have been asked to create a report for employee efficiency.  They would like to make sure the employee's are utilizing their time correctly.

They need to know:

how is the employee performing against standard (efficiencies)

Is the employee working all day (productivity) on jobs?

For example; An employee could have met standard, let’s say a six (6) hour job performed in six (6) hours but then stands around for the last two (2).  They are efficient but not productive.

I was thinking of comparing the ProdRouteTrans to jmgStampTrans\jmgStampJournalTrans (combined) but want to make sure I and using the tables correctly to meet their needs.

thanks,

Kevin

I recently completed an Employee Efficiency Report.

I used ProdRouteTrans for the time employees registered on a job and the quantities completed and ProdRouteJob for the calculated time set for that job.  I also included ProdTable to get the scheduled quantity in order to calculate employee efficiency based on time registered and quantity completed against time calculated and scheduled quantity.

Our goal was not so much to see if the employees were standing around as it was to see if they were meeting our expectations on time to complete. Because multiple employees can work on the same job and each employee can work on multiple jobs per day, the query was essentially run twice, once for the employee requested in the report parameters, and again for each job that employee was clocked into. The result shows the requested employee by job and all other employees who also worked on that job

I did this report using SSRS with business logic to aggregate the time for each employee by job and date and then combine all data into a single dataset for display in the report.

You're on the right track, but instead of using ProdRouteTrans you could use ProdCalcTrans insead. This has the estimated value from Route as well as actuals.

Use PowerPivot to get the data and create your report in PowerView instead of SSRS. :)
