Hi,

I am upgrading from AX2012 R2 to D365 V10. After uploading model store in LCS project, i have run code analyzer which converts model store into deploy able package. This step is continuously failing and giving error "The work items could not be created for the Visual Studio Team Services project. Please verify the Visual Studio Team Services account has permissions to create and delete work items and then retry." My user is project owner and have granted all permissions including "Create and delete work items" in DevOps as well, still getting same error.

The work items could not be created for the Visual Studio Team Services project. Please verify the Visual Studio Team Services account has permissions to create and delete work items and then retry

When I am searching for solutions, I found it is bug in LCS and suppose that mean it is successfully, so how can I know it is successfully or not?

I will be appreciated if you inform me what the next step, when I pass this error,

How can I Resolve the upgrade issue?

I would like to inform you I cannot contact with the LCS Support

LCS is not using your account to connect to ADO. It uses the access token that is defined in the LCS project settings. Check that this token is created by user who is ADO project admin - and that the token is not expired.

    Hi Mohamed,

    Please check this old thread:

    https://community.dynamics.com/365/financeandoperations/f/dynamics-365-for-finance-and-operations-forum/371907/while-d365-code-upgrade-getting-work-item-permission-error-in-team-foundation-service.

"This is a known issue on some accounts, which happens at the end of the upgrade. If you receive this error, the code upgrade has actually successfully completed - it just won't have created the work items. If customer wants to know the tasks, they can use the Excel sheet that is on the code upgrade.

So to summarize - this error can safely be ignored and happens after the code upgrade has successfully completed and checked in all the code to source control. Customer can ignore this error and proceed with the remaining work for their upgrade."

So you can do the left work.

    Hope this helps.

Unfortunately this is caused by a limit of DevOps. The DevOps Team has reduced the number of work items which could be created. It is confirmed on Yammer/Viva Engage, that the code upgrade is succesfull to this point. The only remaining points are the creation of work items for every issue. These are often more than 1000 issues and are also available in one of the created excel files.
Microsoft has planed to remove this part of the code upgrade but it seems they didn't removed it, so today we still get this error.

So in the end the code upgrade is finished in the responding respository and you can ignore this error message. In my case there are even a lot of work items which were created till the limit was reached.
