Dears,
what is the standard behavior when it comes to entering revenue budget entries? do we enter them in negative?
because I've seen d365 changes the sign in the first revenue entry.
so is that the normal behavior? to enter all revenues in negative?
regards,
Hi ,
Generally credit is considered negative in D365 but on budget entry i think it should be without sign because we have category revenue or expense
No, it is not considered normal behavior to enter revenue lines with negative values. Typically, revenue lines represent positive monetary values that reflect the income or earnings generated by a business.
When setting up revenue budgets, it is generally recommended to select the appropriate category, such as 'revenue,' to reflect the nature of the budgeted amount accurately. In the case of revenue budgets, selecting 'revenue' and entering a positive value.
Selecting "Revenue" as the amount type automatically treats the absolute value of the amount as a credit in budgets. A negative amount on a Revenue line will result in a debit to the account budget.
