Issues Master Planning alternative item does not not consider unit conversion

Posted on by

Hi Expert,

I get some question on here hope someone can help solve it.

Sample.

Example :

Below is my formula screen shot.

formula-line.jpg

YPFIN-1( Finished good) get a sales order for 1000 ctn, to produce 1000 ctn of YPFIN-1 i need R1(Raw Material 1) 1000kgs .

Assume:

R-1=10 kgs per ctn ( Inventory unit = ctn)

R-2=8 kgs per ctn ( Inventory unit = ctn)

Scenario 1. If both item was 0 on-hand quantity, after run master plan system propose to purchase 100 ctn for R-1( correct).

Scenario 2. Now R-2(alternative item) had 10 ctn on-hand.  After run master plan, system propose to purchase 90 ctn for R-1 mean 900kgs, result was not we expected.

master-plan-result.jpg

Supposed  R-2 10 ctn = 80kgs,   1000kgs-80kgs=920kgs, system should propose to purchase 92 ctn(920kgs).

Current i face this issues anyone can give a suggestion how to solve this.

Thanks.
