Generate leads without matching still updates existing leads

I'm currently testing some functionality in the Marketing solution for a customer where the requirement is that every submission should be considered "unique" which means a contact/lead can send in multiple requests from the same form, and they should all be considered as unique.

In the documentation I've found that the setting: "Generate leads without matching" should do the trick, however, I'm currently experiencing that it still updates/matches on existing leads.

Settings for my form:

Am I missing something in my setup?

    Hi Jonas,

    I have also encountered your issue in my environment 9.1.0.8428.

    it seems that matching strategy will still works for lead generation even if we set the field Generate leads without matching to Yes,

    while I also tried to update both contacts and leads, however, leads generated from contacts will still be match with the strategy.

    So please request a support ticket for help, 

    and currently what we could do is modifying the strategy itselt.

    Hi Clofly,

    Thanks for your response.

    Your suggestion makes sense, however, as to my understanding the setting "generate leads without matching" in the marketing form should override the matching strategy set on the form. So I would think that there might be a bug or something in the solution where this setting is not being applied properly.

    I'm currently not looking for a work-around so I might report this through support instead.

    Hi Jonas,

    If you would like to create lead record without Matching strategy, (or as you said, rach submission is unique), 

    Johnny's answer in this thread could be a reference for you, I tested it and have got success.

    I concluded the solution steps below:

    1. Create a new custom lead matching Strategy and only add Lead ID field as attribute to be recognized as unique.

    2. Disable Default lead matching Strategy and replace it with the previous item for your Marketing form. 

    3. Add Lead ID field in Marketing Form editor, give it any default value and hide the field (It won't populate Lead ID field, the field will still be a GUID string, by adding it to form just because attributes/fields in matching strategy are required to be added to form)

    Due to GUID is always different for lead records, so each submission will be recorded without update.
