Hi,

New to Field Services Mobile App. Could someone tell me when trying to add New Work Order Products on Offline or Online mode in the Dynamics Field Service App for Mobile I'm getting the below error.

"Work order products cannot be updated that affect inventory cannot be updated from the mobile application"

pastedimage1623764926172v1.pngpastedimage1623765008214v2.png

Also the Sale Amount doesn't get pulled from the product.

These Products are set up as Inventory FS Product Types.

I'm just looking for a bit of clarity on this one..

Does something have to be enabled or do I have to do something custom?

Any Help would be much appreciated!

JB

    Hi JB,

The description of this warning should make it clear enough that such products cannot be updated on the mobile application. So what is work order product that affects inventory. It can be found in the following section:

Overview of inventory, purchasing, and returns in Dynamics 365 Field Service | Microsoft Docs

“For example, adding a product as estimated and allocated (Line Status set to Estimated, Allocated and Yes) reserves a portion of inventory from the specified warehouse, though it doesn’t actually deduct it.”

And in Create products or services for work orders in Dynamics 365 Field Service | Microsoft Docs, it mentions that

“When a field technician actually uses the product or performs the service, they will change the work order product or service status to Used from their mobile device. Field technicians and back-office workers will have the option to bill the client after the product or service is used.”

So the mobile app is designed to set the line status as Used instead of Estimated, Allocated or Yes.

If this helped you, I'd appreciate it if you'd mark this as a Verified Answer, which may in turn help others as well.

    Best Regards,

    Nya
