if i start the RTC with a Citrix Receiver the design turns to very unadorned. Obviously it comes from the also unadorned design theme from MS Server 2008, where the Client is installed. All tables are blank. Is there an opportunity to fix it?

Cant help with Citrix but the setting you are looking for is under Experience when connecting with MS Remote Desktop,
Perhaps try connecting with that, getting the look you are after, then asking on the Citrix forums for the matching setting if you are using a citrix client to connect with?
To get to what im talking about click start, run, type: mstsc and hit enter (This opens "Remote Desktop Connection")
Click show more options at the bottom left of the window that opens, go to the experience tab and change the connection speed to something other than "Auto"
