Changing the default column filter from Equals to Contains (or some other default) should be a user configurable setting.

Totally agree. As the "Contains" filter is a quicker search.
Just wondering if now there is the possibility of being able to change the default ?

    Hi BG1,

Unfortunately, you can't change it, the configuration of this piece of UI is not exposed to the API.
