Hi everyone,

Subject: Electronic Report development from scratch

I have developed a report, in data source added a relevant table record, then binded it to the Data model designed to serve our purpose. then in the Format mapping, mapped the Data model to the Imported Excel sheet in the format designer. But the issue faced is: We are getting a one-liner report, picking up just the first record of the table....

Tried adding one node at a time in the data model, still getting the same results.... I think, i might have missed out in designing a proper data model but not sure about it.... Any inputs would be very helpful.....

Good morning Radhika,

Most of the time the issue here is that you bound the table to a 'record' element in your model. You need to bind it to a record list.

You can find a couple of examples on my blog if you need to compare your model with something else.

If this does not bring you forward then please be so kind and share some screenprints.

As you said, I have binded the table to a record list and tried with only one field (Voucher number), still i am getting the same picture...

I am not sure what am i missing on..... it gets only one voucher number......

Hi,

In your first screenprint you show the withholding tax trans IN table.

Did you add this one by selecting table or 'table records' from the data source type pane?

How many records are currently included in this table?

What do you see if you hit the validate button?

Hi Ludwig,

I have added the withholding tax trans as a Table record from the data source type pane. There are 16 records to be binded from this table

And when i validate it:zero errors / warnings found

HI Ludwig,

These are the screenshots of adding as a root a table record

I have few things to ask:
1. Its ok right if i make a excel file with all appropriate labels and not create them in Format designer?

2. I tried using the calculated field and then binding it too....., even have put in the from and to date parameter, but getting the same result.....

I referred to the blogs posted by you, they were pretty helpful... thank you :-)

Hi Radhika,

From the images you shared it seems you are using an Excel template. Could you please double check if the correct data cell range is defined into Excel file template? Also, when uploading the custom template please make sure that the "Create Excel Sheet format element" option is enabled so that proper binded elements to be automatically created for the report output.

Thanks for the reply, I did enabled the toggle "Create Excel Sheet format element" while importing the custom format, Could you elaborate more on Excel file template please, maybe I am missing out there....??
