Editable Grid Control (Event Handler) Error on Reference Panel

Good day, fellas

Just wondering if anyone has ever configured editable grid on Reference Panel section and gotten the control working as every time I try to configure the event handler for editable grid inside reference panel, the configuration seems to be vanishing. Is it not possible by default due to some sort of product limitation/restriction or just another bugs? Thanks!

Regards,

Jonas

    Hello Jonas,

Please make sure that you are using turbo forms and not legacy rendering (check in system settings) and changes are published.

Can you please share the exact version of CRM v9 org and steps you are trying to follow ?

You can check this article for more info - docs.microsoft.com/.../use-editable-grids-dynamics-365

    Hi Tiwari

Thanks for your response. I have made sure that legacy rendering option is unchecked on system setting. On-Premise CRM version that is used is the latest, which is 9.0.17.8. What I did was basically:

    - Insert Reference Panel Section within the form

    - Insert Sub-Grid within the inserted reference panel

    - Transform the grid from read-only into editable

    - Add event handler for the aforementioned sub-grid.

    - Save and Publish the form

But, then when I check the grid control (event-handler) registered OnRecordSelect Event is gone. So far, I do not have any info that editable grid cannot be used within reference Panel. Any assistance for this particular issue will be much appreciated. Cheers

    Regards,

    Jonas

Thanks for sharing details, Jonas. I tested same steps in vanilla on-premise org (9.0.17) and was able to repro issue and see the same behavior as you are seeing. This issue does not happen for OnSave or OnChange events so I would suggest to open a support ticket so that we can investigate it further.

    Hi Mate Satish Tiwari

Just a little update, your colleague at MS Support said that it is by design behavior hence there is no fixing will be done upon this matter which is a little bit strange, though, because the option is there, but it does not work at all and there is no documentation saying the limitation on utilising the existing functions.

    Regards,

    Jonas

Thanks for sharing update, Jonas. You can ask engineer to get this documented so that it helps others as well or if you can message me the ticket# (do not share it here on thread), I can work with team to get this documented in public article.
