Sub-assemblies are used when the item (which has assembly BOM) can be either sold separately or be included into another item as a component. On the other hand, I would probably expect exploding BOM to show availability warning, so that might be a bug in NAV.

so , what's the importance of subassemblies at Assembly BOM , really I expected that the will check on the components of subassemblies during using the assembly to order policy where when we explode BOM of the subassemblies NAV didn't show availability warning
Hi,
this is all fine. Assemblies are a 'cut-down' version of Production BOMs, so they don't support 'phantom BOMs'. For assemblies, system doesn't care much how the required item is replenished - if, it's missing - system shows the availability warning.

are you sure about you have correctly setup on BOM and those item (item card) replenishment details
most probably the will be a wrong entry
