Bundeling Products with different revenue accounts

Hi guys,

our company is providing IT-solutions which are comprised by an one time fee and recurring costs. In order to create quotes faster, my idea was to bundle the one time fee products and the recurring fee into one product bundle.

The product bundle is created but now my accounting department said that it is not feasible as the products within the bundle have different revenue accounts but the product bundle itself needs to have one revenue account.

Do you have any idea how to solve this?

I have the same question (0)

    Hello Givoanni,

Where do you have this screenprint from?

It does not look like a D365FO standard form.

Is this possibly from a different MS product?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Giovanni,

If you are using Bundle product that means you are agree on posting revenue for Bundle product not for its component.

COGS will be calculated and posted based on component.

So, you can have only one "Revenue Account Mapped" because you are billing Bundle product not component.

    Hi Saurabh,

many thanks for your reply. That makes perfectly sense to me. Do you have any other idea how to solve my problem? As stated, basically my goal is to improve the process of creating quotes. Each quote should be comprised by a one time fee product and a product with a monthly fee. Both have different revenue accounts.

    Best regards

    Giovanni

    Hi Giovanni,

This is another Dynamics 365 CE based app. Let's move the question to the correct forum.

    Hi Giovanni,

I guess your best bet will be a related product:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../define-related-products-increase-chances-sales

Although it doesn’t completely fulfill your requirement.

You could create a workflow to automatically adds specific products depending on the product added which however is not quite dynamic.

You can create a flow which adds all related products dynamically - however it is asynchronous and so doesn’t give a nice user experience.

Another option is to create a plug-in which dynamically adds all related products in real time. But you would need to write some .NET code for this.

    Kind regards

    Jens
