Hi!
I am a student currently working on a my master thesis, regarding this i need event data for the accounts payable process to do process and data mining. I currently have two tables (vendinvoicejour and purchline) with information about the invoices, but need another one consisting of time-to-event data, with not only one row per purchase order. I am new to Dynamics, but have worked with other ERPs where this has not been a problem. I have looked all over but cant seem to find it, is there a way to get this data about the P2P process and download it?
Hi Kristian,
Can you be a bit more specific? What exactly do you mean with 'time-to-event' data?
Note that the PurchLine is not having information about the invoice, but about the purchase order lines. Probably you would need the VendInvoiceTrans or VendInvoiceLine table. (not sure about the naming by head).
Thanks for the answer. The table I am looking for should contain all the steps in the verification process an invoice has been through. Essentially how the process workflow of an invoice is in table-form.
The process is automated where invoices are matched with goods receipt, and then approved. I'll link you an image of what the table could look like. (All task preformed on an invoice before it is approved, either manually or automatically).
Simple examples of how a table like this could look like:

I don't think what you are looking for necessarily exists in D365FO in one single table.
If purchase order / vendor invoice workflow is configured, then you might be able to look at the workflow history to find the type of data you are looking for.
This can be found in Organization administration -> Workflow -> Workflow history

You mentioned the verification process of an invoice. Initially, I thought you would like to do mining on the process of creating orders, then receiving the goods and later the invoice. Like mining the full procure to pay process.
Are you looking to do mining where there should also be visible where the automated tasks were completed successfully at once, multiple retries or fixed manually? Do you have an idea how your mining flow should look like? If so, can you share the example?
Like mentioned by Nikolaj, it is not a single and simple table having the information. For your mining you need to collect data from multiple tables and present it in a table suitable for your mining. Depending on the exact requirements, you might need customizations where data storage for some details are missing.
Hi André,
Thanks for the reply. I would like the digital footprint of an invoice, kind of what you mention in the second section of the reply. It may look like an event log of invoices if that makes sense. Whether the tasks preformed on an invoice is automatic, digital or manual. Maybe i have to join different tables together, and the tables may not have standardized names, but do you have any ide on where to find the right tables for this?
I found this Microsoft post on process mining, and need a similar table, just for the payment process of accounts payable.

Simple example of what i'm looking for.

Definitely, you would need a customization to log e.g. also the events for automatically checking the receipt of the goods and the outcome. You can consider a ProcessMiningEvent table where you can store these various actions based on certain events in the application. For some events, you would also need custom coding to be able to log a record in the table.
