DE events deleted

Posted on by 1,548
Hi,

What would cause dataEvents endpoints to be deleted other than actually deleting them or a refresh to UAT happens.

They suddenly got deleted and there is no refresh that happened. and we can't see if someone actually deleted them. But could there be another reason that causes them to be deleted?

    Hi Hana,

Then how did u know that cleanups or security changes might cause deletion? Can you please give me more info...is there sth i can do in the environment related to security that could cause deletion?
Or what cleanup can run that could cause this?

As there is no refresh that happened to the environment.

It seems each time we merge code to UAT, endpoints get deleted.

    Hi,
This is an addition to the previous answer:
Here is a related description of role-based security for business events:
Business events overview - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn
Yes, a database refresh operation will delete the following elements, including service endpoints that delete business events and data events:

Here are all the cleanup routines for the system:

The previous points only provide the possibility of triggering data events to be deleted, and are not necessarily caused by these reasons. You can check and exclude by these points, but what is clear is that if you refresh the database, the service endpoints for business events and data events will be deleted.
    Best Regards,
    Hana

    Hi Hana,

Can you please explain more point 1, 2 and 4?

What do u mean by security role configuration and permission..what shall i do exactly to see them deleted?

When you say system update or upgrade, do you mean refresh?

And when you say system cleanup? What menu item is that?

    Hi,
Data events may be deleted for the following reasons:
    1. Incorrect security role configuration or permission changes may cause endpoint deletion.
    2. Sometimes, during system updates or upgrades, configurations related to data event endpoints may be reset or deleted.
    3. If the data entity associated with the data event endpoint is deleted or significantly modified, it may cause the corresponding endpoint to be automatically deleted.
    4. During system cleanup, data event endpoints associated with outdated or no longer needed configurations may be intentionally deleted.
    5. The data event may be disabled due to careless human operation. Check whether it appears in the disabled data event. Temporary pauses may be required due to system maintenance, batch data import, or batch data processing.
    6. In addition, if there is no problem with the above, you may need to check the operation log of the system to see if there has been any manual operation.
    Best Regards,
    Hana
