Hello,
Does anyone know the difference between the email bounces and remote bounces?
Hi kovinina,
This is mainly due to the mail server.
[Soft Bounced]
The e-mail was rejected from the receiving server, but due to a transient error. A retry would probably succeed. (e.g. Server is overloaded)
[Hard Bounced]
The e-mail was rejected from the receiving server, and it will not be accepted no matter how hard we retry. (e.g. this mailbox doesn't exist) We stop retrying this recipient for 6 months
[Remote Bounce]
The e-mail is routed through an intermediate mail server (for example for spam checking) and then sent to the actual mailbox provider. This case generates two results: First we get a synchronous Delivered type message (from the intermediate mail server), and afterwards we receive an asynchronous bounce message.
