Batch Job alerts

Hi there,

In the batch job form you can select a batch job and click the Alerts on the top tab to set when an alert is triggered.  If emailing this defaults to the user that created the batch job.  Is there any way to change that email to another email?  Currently As Admin I create a number of batches for functional users but I cannot change the alert to the user that then needs to deal woth the query.

Thanks for reading

Paulina

You can try to change userId in  BatchJobAlerts table via x++ job,  but there is no nice way to do it from UI.

    Hi Paulina.

If you scratch below the surface on this one you'll see that this has been coded in a very strange way. The alerts screen shows any alerts for the logged in user, NOT the batch owner. If you want to create a batch job alert for a different user, simply log in as that user to AX, click on the batch job in question and click alerts, this will create an alert for that user. The problem is that to delete the batch alert you need to be the user who created the alert.

I know it sounds really strange, but we've looked through this before and found this to be the case.

I think that makes perfect sense - alerts are something that you can subscribe to, as self service. So if I want alert about an event in the system, I will subscribe it. And if I don't want it anymore, I remove my subscription.
