Nav 2013 R2 - Viewing your data for a report

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by 215

I have been having some troubles understanding using multiple tables in a single dataset when developing reports for Navision 2013 r2 and SSRS.  After watching numerous tutorials and reading way too many blogs I still have not found an answer to what <> means in the column when i am viewing data that is being submitted to the report. I assume it means that there is a related table but how do I actually see that data and is there a special way to map this data into a control in the SRSS report. My tablix keeps coming up empty but I cannot see if there is any data in the data view. Just the <> columns.

if you mean the value "<>" when viewing the submitted data in report preview, then it means: null or empty or "no value".

to set value to a textbox, goto to a textbox or a cell of a tablix, right-click --> textbox properties. in the now opened textbox dialog the general pane is shown. there select a value for the textbox.

to view all report data fields, goto menu view in the report designer and select "view report data". then the Report Data pane is displayed. expand the dataset to get the published fields.

in an other context: <> is an operator and means "not equal to". it's e.g. used for conditions in report expressions for (row) visibility.

Null Value is what I was looking for.

    Thanks!
