Hi all, this is my first question on here so please be kind!
I work for a university as the CRM Platform Administyrator and am encountering D365 Marketing for the first time, trying to get my head around how the Contacts quota works.
I can understand the theory of how any contact that is contacted comes out of the marketing quota and stays in for 12 months after the last contact.
However, as we are a university, there will be a lot of contacts that we contact a few times before admissions, but we then never contact again. Each year we will be doing the same, contacting a large number of new contacts, many of whom we will never contact again.
I understand that we can "True Down" at renewal, but how does that work in our case? Will they have to effectively stay in our quota for 2 years? i.e. they will still be within 12 months at the time of renewal, but we will have another batch of potential new students to mail.
Is there any way we can predict what a true-down will leave us with? We will be mailing post-graduates and alumni so our overall number will only go up every year, but as many of the contacts will be dropping off each year, how can we know in advance, how many contacts we will have after true down so we can know how many additional contacts we need to buy?
Obviously I can see how many contacts we have consumed on the quotas page, but that doesn't give any sort of breakdown, just a cumulative number.
Any help and advice would be very much appreciated. I've been reading a lot of advice on this but haven't found any answers yet. All advice seems to just point to the following pages, which do not answer my questions.
