Gen.Prod Posting Group in Detailed Customer Ledger Entry Table

Posted on by
//

Hi ,

As I know, Gen Prod Posting Group & Gen Bus Posting Groups are required to decide the  GL Accounts & therefore, it's not required to be available in Detailed Customer Ledger Entry Table. But these two fields are available in the Detailed Customer Ledger Entry Table and at the same time, these fields are not updated when entries are posted.

I would like to know, what's the purpose of having these fields in this table and on the other hand, what's the reason data is not posted to these two fields here despite the availability.

Thank You!

    I believe those fields are no longer being used.

    The only place the fields are used is in Codeunit 12 "Gen. Jnl.-Post Line" under procedure UnapplyCustLedgEntry.
    However, the fields are not being assigned so it will always be blank.

    These fields habe always been there since the earlier NAV versions, but they never show anything so definitely something MS should clean up.

    what version of BC are you running? I took a look on my Saas BC, those fields are not on that page.

    HI,

    That seems odd. I did check and these fields are not used anywhere.

    I will be surprised if there is a use case for these fields. May be these fields are not required and Microsoft should remove these fields from table.
