How to add a status field (combo box) in title group of detail transaction form pattern in form customization?

Hello experts,

I have customized SMAServiceOrderTable form and I have changed the form pattern to Custom. Now, I want to add a status field (i.e. a combo box) in title group of Details tab page. But while inserting any field in the group it is stating that Object reference not set to an instance of an object. Can you please suggest me what am I lacking? 

I tried to look on system forms as well which contains the status field in it like PurchLine, SalesTable and I tried to do the exact same things but do not know why I am getting this error. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi Arif Hussain,

    You don't need to change the form patter to custom. Just add the new group under "HeaderInfo" group. It will allow you to create new group without any pattern errors.

    HeaderInfo group will require two elements as per the form form pattern - One will be control  and other will be group.

    Hi GirishS, I have other customizations as well like adding tab pages so, I need to change the form pattern to custom. I have added group but I am unable to insert any field type in it due to the error. Can you please suggest?

    Okay then, Just remove the controls you have added to the extended form(SMAServiceOrderTable.ModelName). Now you build and synch your project.

    After successful completion try adding the controls again.

    Does your build has any errors?

    After clicking the ok button on the error window and click save the changes.

    Does the change got saved in the form?

    f not just restart the visual studio and try again.

    Thank you GirishS for your suggestions.

    I think it is due to the custom tab pages I have added. How can we add custom tab pages in detail transaction form pattern?

    After you set the form pattern to custom - You won't  be able to see the patterns format as in the screenshot above. Like "Unmatched controls error in the pattern screen.

    Have you changed the form pattern to custom?

    Yes, because it was throwing an error that the tab pages are not allowed at this position by Detail Transaction Form Pattern. So, I need to change it to Custom Form pattern.

    I guess its due to refresh issue. I will suggest you to go step by step.

    First you remove all the customizations you have added in the extension form like Tab pages - Groups etc.

    Now you just revert back the pattern to standard one by right clicking the design and select "Restore original pattern".

    Build and synch the Project.

    After successful build change the patter to custom by right clicking the design and select "Set pattern to custom".

    Now you wont able to see the pattern format on the bottom screen after changing to custom.

    Now add all your custom controls.
