Microsoft Project Server integration

Hi All ,

In the Ax 2012 , Project Accounting module -Setup - Microsoft Project Server integration.

What is the use this and why only project accounting module has this project server integration ?

Could any one explain about this in detail ?

    This is used for project management and resource planning using Microsoft Project Server.  For most customers this was overly complex to setup and required purchase of Microsoft Project Server.

    This functionality has been deprecated in AX 2012 R3.  Instead, users can integrate with Microsoft Project.  This integration provides similar functionality without the complexity required in setting up and communicating with Microsoft Project Server.

    Thank you for the reply.

    Still i have one question is without integrating with MS Project also clients will be happy with the project accounting module . I mean they plan the resources directly in the Ax it self .

    Then still what is the importance to use the MS project server ?

    This functionality has been deprecated in AX 2012 R3.
