Variables Created in Customer Voice project Not Coming Up in CRM

Posted on by 5

Hello,

I created a new survey in Customer Voice that I would like to give my users the ability to send directly from our Dynamics 365 environment, hosted on Dataverse. I created a couple of variables in the survey, and have taken all the steps to enable sending right from CRM, but am running into an issue with the variables not showing up in the Send Survey dialog:

The variable I created is called OwningRep and I can see it in Customer Voice, and in the survey's related record in Dataverse:

Is there some step I am missing to give my users the ability to populate this when sending a survey out? I also do not see it pulling into the related flow for me to populate it there so I am not sure what is happening here.

RE: Variables Created in Customer Voice project Not Coming Up in CRM

Quick update here, I created another test survey to see if I could recreate this issue and I couldn't, it was working fine. I noticed that I deleted the OOB variable Locale in my survey with the issues, so I copied the variable field's JSON to the survey record with issues directly in Dataverse, and voila it started working. I then wanted to actually recreate the variable in Customer Voice so everything is buttoned up and ran into this issue again. Upon further inspection, the Locale variable MUST be included for each survey record and it MUST be lowercase "locale". I'm guessing there is some code with a hard reference to this...

This variable should not be able to be deleted if it is going to break functionality!
