How to filter the data received from a query for an SSRS report?

ReportReport

HI,

I am working on a fixed asset report and in this SSRS report, I am printing individual accounting accounts.

The data (MainAccountIDs) is retrieved using an AssetAcquisitionDocument query from the AssetBk, AssetTable, AsseTrans, etc tables.
Is it possible to filter the data received in the query, if so, what is the best way? Is there any point to override any method in the query?

In summary, for the report I am retrieving all MainAccountId from all accounting layers, and I would like to display only acquisitions from the general ledger.

Thanks.

Can anyone suggest how best to solve this problem?

Is it a custom report or a standard one?

If a custom one, please tell us more about it and don't forget to mention why you can't simply change the query.

If it's a standard one, please give us its name. Note that there doesn't seem to be any query called AssetAcquisitionDocument in my environment.

This is a standard SRSS report. It only seems to be required by Polish law.

Would a right way be to just create a more complex SELECT query?

Can't you create an extension of the query and add a new filter there?

I can create an extension for this query, but I don't know how to add filters to it.

Could you please give me a suggestion or some example material on how to achieve this?

Honestly, I can't find any clear article on this topic for me.

Expand the data source that contains the field that you want to filter by. Right-click the Ranges node and create a new range:

Is it possible for me to get data filtered as follows?

    1. from the AssetTrans table, if the field TransType field has value eq 'Acquisition',
    2. from the GJAE (GeneralJournalAccountEntry) table, if the PostingType field has value eq 'Fixed assets, debit'

Yes, it is possible. Do you have any problem with it?

    Yes.

I create a new range and what next?

I tried to enter a value here, I tried to edit the query manually, but there is no way to do that.

Thank you in advance for your help.

You said you tried to enter a value there, which is correct, but didn't tell us what problem you have with it.

Please try it once more. Set a name of an enum element to the Value property and check if the query definition produces the right query string. If so, test that it fetches the right data from database.
