Hi

I've been playing a bit with this fearture and have some challenges to see how to use it in our marketing activities.

Maybe some coming features will fill the gap but before, i already have questions:

  • How to find / see the draft versions of SoMe posts?
    • I'm creating a post without scheduling it. I only save it. Its status is Draft.
    • When I look at the calendar, i dont see anywhere the draft. Even if i select the draft view.
    • Questions:
      • How to see the drafts?
      • Is there any more user friendly interfaces / views to list the posts (apart the calendar view)?
  • Draft version of a scheduled post?
    • If I save a post that is scheduled, it's not any more a post.
    • Question:
      • If we want to plan SoMe posts in advance in a draft mode, how to do? (ex: We want to plan a post next week but the content is not yet approved / filled - In this context we want to have this post set for next week but in a draft mode)
  • What assign means for a post?
    • When we save a poost, it's possible to assign it.
    • Question:
      • What is it for as there is now view "My SoMe posts"?
  • How to create a link behind a picture?
    • One of the usual tactics on Linkedin is to have a picture with a link behind the click.
    • Question:
      • How to achieve this?
  • How to integrate a SoMe posting in a customer journey?
    • One of the interesting approach using D365 to post on SoMe is to be able to post through a customer journey. Let's imagine that we have a Marketing journey and depending of, let's say the number of visit of our website, we want to trigger some SoMe posting to reinforce the message.
    • Questions:
      • How to do this?
      • Is there any coming plan if it's not doable at the moment?
  • Insights?
    • I understand that the SoMe posting is at a very early stage in D365fM.
    • Question:
      • Is there any coming plan to get some insights about how a post performs?
      • Is there any plan to know who has liked, commented or shared the post?
  • Video post?
    • Thing more and more companies are doing is to share videos.
    • Question:
      • How to post a video in a post?
  • General roadmap?
    • We are very interested by this kind of integration in D365fM.
    • Question:
      • Is there any roadmap listing what's coming and when?

Thank you

P.

  • RE: Social media posting

Hi Shravan, thank you for all your answers.

    Two additional / comments:

How to create a link behind a picture?

One of the usual tactics on Linkedin is to have a picture with a link behind the click.

    Question:

As you can see, you can click directly on the picture as it has a link to a URL

    Question:

    • How to post a video in a post? [Shr - you can post a link to a video in your social post. You can create a library of your video links in D365 Marketing and leverage that to post the correct video to the social post of your choice.]

Could you show me how to do as I cannot upload any video in the Library in D365fM.

    Thank you very much.

    Pascal

Hey Pascal, copying your post and adding answers inline to maintain readability:

      • Questions:
        • How to see the drafts? [Shr - please switch from calendar view to list view, and you'll see a list of your posts in draft state as well. Since these posts don't have a date associated with them, they are not shown on the calendar]
        • Is there any more user friendly interfaces / views to list the posts (apart the calendar view)? [Shr - as mentioned above, the list view. The image below shows how you can switch from calendar to list view.]

(ex: We want to plan a post next week but the content is not yet approved / filled - In this context we want to have this post set for next week but in a draft mode) - [Shr - we don't currently support scheduling draft posts. The idea is that you can create a post as draft, even set it to be approved (use the approval functionality designed here), but when you set the time of the post - you'd want to post it then.)
    • What assign means for a post?
      • When we save a post, it's possible to assign it.
      • Question:
        • What is it for as there is now view "My SoMe posts"? [Shr - if you're seeing the assign functionality - this is the standard CRM record assignment. What it means is that you can assign another user the ownership of the record. If you create posts in "draft stage" (monthly update announcements for your top 3 products, for example) - you can create and assign them to the user or team managing the social posts for those products. With Dynamics' built in permission management system, you can have a system where an intern is only allowed to edit the social posts assigned to them, and not create new ones. This gives you unprecedented control over how your social media communication is being managed.)

      • One of the usual tactics on Linkedin is to have a picture with a link behind the click.
      • Question:
        • How to achieve this? [Shr - creating a LinkedIn post allows you to add images as well as URLs in the text. If this isn't what you're looking for, could you share an example post?]

      • Questions:
        • How to do this? [Shr - this is a good use case. Right now, this is not doable from within the system, but it's on the roadmap, though not currently scheduled]

    • Insights?
      • I understand that the SoMe posting is at a very early stage in D365fM.
      • Question:
        • Is there any coming plan to get some insights about how a post performs? [Shr - high level insights are on our roadmap]
        • Is there any plan to know who has liked, commented or shared the post? [Shr - advanced insights, which provide individual post interaction insights, are on the roadmap as well, but not in the short term]
    • Video post?

    RE: Social media posting

    Hi Pascal,

You have lots of good questions there. Many of these features are't yet available, as far as I know, but I can help with your question about finding your drafts. Use the Show as drop-down in the command bar to switch to a list view (Read only grid) instead of the calendar view. You should be able to see your drafts there. On doing this, I happened to have some refresh issues in my environment--I don't know if you'll see these, but if you do, try changing the form view (drop-down on the left) to switch between Social posts and Draft social posts and back ; my drafts eventually showed up on doing that.
