CRM 4.0 --- FireFox or Chrome or Opera

Help!  CRM 4.0 does not appear to run under anything other than Internet Explorer.  It is frustrating that CRM does not support at least FireFox in todays environment.  this is the only app my company is running that is this limited.

I get access denied and recommend that I switch to IE 6.0

My company now has lots of MAC and Linux users.   Any options other than to switch to SalesForce?

Thanks in Advance for Suggestions, Rob

(BTW - already tried IE TAB add-in.   That is really IE within FireFox.  It also does not help MAC users.

There is no First-Party support from MS for anything other than IE for CRM 4 and CRM 5 (yes, that is correct).  It's on their radar for expanding support, but won't make even the next release.

Depending on how much info non-IE users need in CRM, you could use reporting to give others reports from CRM, or you could use the web services and/or the SharePoint->CRM webpart to expose information to non-IE users.  That's not even close to a full solution, but it might give them the access they need.

There's also the mobile options, which work great on my iPhone (and I'm betting iPad), though are obviously more limited than the full client.

The underlying limitations are really hard to workaround. They use HyperTextComponent (HTC) and there are no standards that Gecko or Mozilla based browser can implement.

All other browsers have add-ins that is integrating an IE browser in their browsers, like the IE Tab add-in. So you must upgrade the Windows browser according to the CRM requirements.

Can you direct me to any iphone/ipad solution other than crmbee (which is a read-only app)? That would be really helpful.

    Thanks

Well, the most straightforward is the CRM Mobile page that comes with Dynamics CRM.  just go to https://%mycrm%/m and that should be the core mobile version.

There is a really nice version called Bridge2CRM that is also browser-based, but a lot fancier.  http://www.softbridgeinc.com/softbridgeinc/index.aspx It includes creation of phone call activities, address maps, etc.  It works on pretty much any smartphone (and I would assume iPad) since it uses the web browser.

I don't think CRM 4 will be supported in other browsers

For CRM2011 there will be support in Q1-Q2 of 2012 mshelp.be/big-plans-for-dynamics-crm-383.htm
