Custom Opportunity Close Form Mapping

Good Day Community

I are busy building out some new forms for the opportunity close for different apps within D365 CE and all seems to have gone smooth but we are having a challenge with the standard mapping of the opportunity (linking the close record to the existing opportunity) the field doesnt populate and the user would have to manually link the record which is not ideal.

Has anyone tested this out? We have attempted to create a new lookup field and create a custom mapping but still no luck, we have also attempted this with javascript but as this is not something I am all that familiar with is also proving to be a challenge

https://neilparkhurst.com/2015/10/19/adding-buttons-to-ribbons/

is the link we have been using but we are not sure how to go about calling our custom form for this.

If anyone could advise as to why the standard mapping is not working/ point us in the right direction regarding the javascript it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Hi, I'm working on the same issue. Did you ever figure out how to make this work?

Thank you for the above :) Code was the option we were thinking based on what we had seen. Will take a look and see what the appetited is for code as we are trying to keep things as standard as possible.

    Thanks again!

RE: Custom Opportunity Close Form Mapping

    Hi Gekosin,

My test results are consistent with yours. I think this is by design.

The Quick Create: Opportunity Close form is designed and is different from the ordinary Quick Create form.

The field mapping between it and Opportunity does not work properly in this form.

In order to synchronize data between Opportunity and Opportunity Close entities, you can write a client-side code (form scripting or web resources) or server-side plugin to keep the data in sync between the two entities.

In addition, the Quick Create: Opportunity Close form is limited to the managed Opportunity Close with version 9.1.0.0, and the newly created custom Quick Create form cannot be used to close the opportunity.
