Hi community!
Our customer needs a simple way to manage RFQ issues and RFQ replies.
To day they use purchase orders with all the troubles that comes with that.
- RFQ's are not issued very frequently and Most RFQ's are sent to a single vendor.
- The RFQ occasionally include many lines!
- System support for comparing replies or follow up is not important.
Their main requirements are basically:
1. Ability to separate RFQ's from regular purchase orders
2. Ability to export/save RFQ in Excel format (in order to have the vendor fill in replies in predefined places)
3. Ability to import the vendor replies (as the manual entry for mulit line RFQ's would be time consuming)
I'm investigating the possibility to use purchase orders of type "journal" > Create a Excel template and use it to generate the RFQ document. If that works, then it should take care of req. #2.
Would like to use the DIXF for the import.
Would you say this would be a good way to go, or do you have any other nifty ideas here? Bet you do! ;-)
/Erik

I have the same question (0)In Dynamics AX 2012 you have already having separate method for RFQ creation, which is separate from Purchase order creation.
