Dear Experts,
I have got a requirement to change the name of the posting layer 1- 7, and then it will be used by business.
is this driven by configurations? I am guessing no.
Dear Experts,

Update- We have successfully renamed custom layer 1 to MIS layer, it worked.
Thanks Andre, I personally dont like the requirement to change the Operations and tax layer, it just our customers are adamant sometime hence wanted to have feedback on this.
Thanks for your feedback on this.
Hi Ramit,
With help of the label extension, you can "rename" any label. Do you really need to rename 'Operations' and 'Tax'? Operations and Tax do have some meaning in various standard x++ logic. The decision what to do might depend on the specific scenario.
Thanks Andre,
My last question to you and Dr. Ludwig- Can we rename the operations and tax layer or you suggest to rename the layer 1 to7 ?
Hi Ramit,
It would be possible to create a label extension to change the standard labels. Have a look at my blog starting from the section 'Label extensions' as overlayering is not possible anymore: https://dynamicspedia.com/2016/11/how-to-create-a-new-language-or-country-to-dynamics-365-for-operations/
In this case, you have to extend the ApplicationFoundation labels.
Thanks Dr. Ludwig.
I am also on the same page,
Based on your experience, is this at all a risk free change in layer? I did not work on this ever on any implementation, hence little bit of hesitating on this before I agree the approach with customer.
Hi Ramit,
My knowledge is that you new a developer for this. There is not parameter / configuration in the UI that would allow you renaming layers.
Best regards,
Ludwig
