You are tying to downgrade GP. That is not permissible. If you are running 18.2.1036 your option is to upgrade to 18.2.1060.

I am installing GP on a new machine.  The version download I received is 108.2.1036.  It installed fine, but when I try to open GP, it wants to run GP Utilities.  When I do, this is when I receive this error message.

If you go to a working workstation what version of GP is running? It sounds like 18.2.1060 has been applied to the server.

I would want to see the duinstall.txt file from the GP \ Data folder - location where you run the client from.

If Utilities failed there should be something there to give you a bit more detail - like the server / database version and the code version on the machine.

As everyone has stated, you most likely have installed Dynamics GP that is at a version/build that is older than 18.2.1036, thus the error.

If you had installed 18.2.1060, it would prompt to run GP Utilities, but wouldn't throw this error, it would just want to upgrade the databases from 18.2.1036.

If you had installed 18.2.1036, a new install may prompt for GP Utilities, but it would only synchronize the dictionary files and wouldn't throw an error nor ask to upgrade anything, unless new features were added.

If you installed a version of Dynamics GP older than 18.2.1036, that will throw this type of error because we're not able to 'downgrade' Dynamics GP.

When you launch GP Utilities, on the first window after the login window, in the bottom left-hand corner, it'll show a version, what is it showing?
