Budgets reporting in financial reporter have the incorrect sign convention

Hi,

We have loaded budgets in to D365 F&O but unlike actuals the figures when reported using the financial reporter (management reporter) do not change to positive if we add C to Normal balance (column F), budgets were loaded as per standard accounting sign conventions - revenues = credit, expenses = debit.

is this a bug? do the budgets not work in the same way?

any help appreciated

thnaks

Rob

    Hello Robie,

Could you mind provided the screenshots of the details for research?

    Thanks.

    Hello Rob,

A possible reason for this might be the amount type field that is used when entering budget data.

Have you checked what amount type (expense, revenue) has been used?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi,

as you can see from the below the budgets were loaded as negative and using revenue but on the report in management reporter they do not follow the same logic

    Hello Rob,

I am not sure if you are still running into this issue, but if you are I would suggest to create a case with Microsoft and reference my name (Erik Johnson) in the case for it to be assigned to me and I can help.

    Thank you,

    Hi Robie12347, just a thought!

Have you tried by considering the amount type as "Expense" as the value itself is in negative (-ve)?

The reason why I am asking, because negative amount with amount type 'Expense' itself is nothing else but can be considered as "Revenue".
