Attach Multiple Assets to a single work order

Does anyone know if Field Service can have a single work order with multiple assets? For example, if we had a client in a particular location that has 20 machines and we need to upgrade all of them. Rather than an individual work order for each assets it would be a single work order for multiple machines.

I have the same question (0)

The standard way is to create multiple incidents in a single work order, each incident linked to 1 of the 20 assets.

We're struggling with trying to manage thousands of installations for our products.  Is there a way to further automate the creation of Work Order Incidents?

For example, we install a system (product) on a customer vehicle (customer asset).  A customer has 1,000 vehicles they want systems installed on.  We create a Work Order for the customer to manage the 1,000 installations since they take place over an extended period of time.  So, we need to create 1,000 Work Order Incidents where each one has a unique customer vehicle (customer asset), the type of system being installed (product) and the planned date of the installation.

Is there a way to automate the creation of the 1,000 Work Order Incidents associated to the Work Order?

Let's say the customer provides us with a list of the 1,000 vehicles.  We could import that list of customer assets and surface it on the Work Order.  Let's assume the primary incident type is the same for all 1,000 (let's call it "New Installation"), which has the system (product) being installed.  Is there a way to have 1,000 Work Order Incidents created with the system (product) and vehicle (customer asset)?  Then the customer service team only has to go in and add the planned installation dates for each of those incidents.  Something to that effect.

I think you answered your own question. You can use an excel list of the 1000 vehicles, you just need to make sure that all the fields are populated correctly. You would have to use some sort of unique indentifier for the Product and Assets such as a unique ID so the 1000 list of work order incidents import correctly
