Does anyone know if when you add multiple fields to a matching strategy. Does the system match leads/contact on all of the fields or any of the fields? I know that if you use multiple fields, all of the fields should be marked as required to submit the form. But what if for example an existing contact enters a different firstname but a matching mailadress?
When you add multiple fields to a matching strategy, the system typically matches leads/contacts based on all of the fields rather than just any one of them. This means that for a successful match, all specified fields must align with the data in the existing records. If you have multiple fields marked as required for submission, the system expects all of those fields to be correctly filled to consider it a valid match.
For example, if an existing contact enters a different first name but the same email address, the matching strategy may not recognize it as the same person because the first name field does not match. In this scenario, the match making process would fail due to the discrepancy in one of the required fields, emphasizing the importance of consistent and accurate data entry across all required fields to ensure effective matching.
Hello,
If you use multiple fields in matching strategy, the form submission must match all these fields.
That means the firstname and emailaddress must match the existing values in your example.
