Problem with Dynamics 2016 after Resource - Validated hours.

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello ,

Since begin of this year we experiencing this weird problem which I think has to do with Windows 10 updates.

In Dynamics 2016 after selecting in the main menu the option "Resource - Validated hours".

After filling in the actions and select preview we get the following error message:

A call to DocumentCreator.Printreport failed with this message:

Could not load file or assembly 'Fastreport, Version=1.5.6.0,

Culture is neutral, PublicKeyToken=4a8e6aea0b18fc34'or one of its dependencies.

The system cannot find the file.

Could you please help us out!

Thanks in advance

The problem reporrted here is a missing assembly reference (DLL) regarding FastReport. FastReport is a third-party tool for developing RDLC reports and it's not on standard NAV installations. I think that your Windows update has unregistered the FastReport DLLs from the GAC. You need to re-add the DLL references on your system.

    Hello Stefano,

You did not make any sense could you please explain what to do.

    What we did sofar....

On the pc we did a clean installation of windows 10 pro. Then everything worked ok. But after 150 Windows updates we get this error. So I think a Microsoft update issue. In my opinion everybody who works with NAV2016 should have this problem.

On Google there is little to find about this error.

    Regards

    Ger

It seems that there's an assembly reference that is missing on your system.

Try to recompile the object or re-add the assembly in the page. This is not standard...
