Hi

Is there a reason why a sales order where all items hav been fully shipped and invoiced (and posted) would still appear on the outstanding orders file. if not can anyone let me know how I can purge this document (NAV 2009 SP1 RTC)

    Hi John,

The Sales Header Archive Table is 5107, which is just keeping a snapshot of the original document. The Sales Header Table is 36. The Sales Header Table stores all open Sales Orders.  The intent of the Delete Invoiced Sales Orders (report 299) is to delete from Table 36 and related Table 37 (Sales Order Line) any Sales Orders where Quantity = Quantity Invoiced for all Sales Order Lines.  Typically, the reason why these open Sales Orders exist is that the Invoicing of the Sales Order was managed through the batch job for Combine Shipments (Report 295) or by creating a Sales Invoice and using the Function > Get Shipment Lines to post the combined Invoicing of multiple shipments from various Sales Orders for the same customer.  Because Invoicing was batch processed, NAV doesn't automatically delete the Sales Orders.  The batch job is designed to be used periodically to deleted fully processed Sales Orders under this process flow.

    I hope this helps.

    Best Regards

    Tom

Yes- thanks, I have found this report. However, before I run it I just need to check what the result might be. We currently archive all our sales orders as it is important we can check back on transactions. Will this report only remove orders from the current outstanding orders file and leave them intact in the archive files?
